The Thyssen Schachtbau GmbH is active in the German coal mining industry since 1871. In this field the TS Mining Division has specialized in the construction of headings and the construction of large underground areas as well as a comprehensive range of additional mining services for RAG Deutsche Steinkohle AG. Since nearly 140 years the department has gained experience in high performance mining in the Ruhr district, in Ibbenbüren and in the State of Saarland.
The qualified and highly motivated personnel copes with most difficult geological and climatical conditions. A continuously improving safety system associated with latest mining technology guarantees the best heading performance in the German coal mining industry.

In 2008, according to an increasing demand for well qualified mining personnel in Germany, the company "Bergbau-Spezialgesellschaft Ruhr-Lippe mbH" was founded. The company is acting as personnel conferrer for the national mining industry.
